Society of Illustrators 57

I received a nice call last week from the Society of Illustrators! My piece "End of Summer" made it into the show for the Uncommissioned category. It will be my second time showing at SI, but my first time showing in the professional show. I feel very honored and would like to congratulate all illustrators with work in the show!

If you're interested in checking out the exhibit, it will be up from January 7th - 31st at the Society of Illustrators Museum.

End of Summer

Unfortunatly, summer is coming to a close... I didn't get a chance to make it to the beach this summer, but I did get to make a beach themed illustration.

Jari and the Great Worm

Final Version: Colored in watercolor and photoshop.

Inked Drawing: The drawing was inked with pen and brush. I also made the kid alittle bigger. There where other details that were inked sepperatly and added when I went to computer.

Drawing: The thumbnail is blown up and then drawn at actuall size. I also changed the head of the worm and worked out some of the details.

Thumbnail Sketch: Drawn only at 1 1/2 inches in hieght, but at that size it's easier for me to work out the composition.
